Skills on a schedule, skills that post to Slack, and listening in private channels

Run a skill on a schedule

Skills can now run on a timer as well as on events. Write it in the skill, like "every weekday at 8am" or "every 30 minutes", and Automate sets up the schedule. Times use the timezone you name in the skill, or UTC if you don't name one. The shortest interval is every 15 minutes.

Each run is told when the previous run happened, so "process everything since the last run" just works.

Skills can post to a Slack channel

A new skill tool, sp_notify_channel, posts a message to any Slack channel the Simple Product bot is in, public or private. For example: "When new feedback comes in, post it to #customer-feedback." To keep a skill stuck in a loop from flooding a channel, there's a limit of 20 posts per workspace per hour.

It's separate from sp_notify, which reaches one teammate privately by email, Slack DM and in-app chat.

Skills can create feedback

Skills can now create feedback (sp_feedback_create) and add a customer to existing feedback (sp_feedback_add_person). That makes skills like "turn sales call transcripts into customer feedback" possible.

Slack listening works in private channels

Feedback listening used to work only in public channels. It now works in private ones too, including channels shared with customers through Slack Connect. Invite @Simple Product and run /sp listen inside the channel.

To turn on a private channel by name from somewhere else, reconnect Slack once in Settings → Integrations. If the bot hasn't been invited, the error now says that clearly, instead of reporting "channel not found".
